Common faults and solutions during the use of pressure transmitter

23-09-2021

Pressure transmitter is a measuring instrument, mainly for pressure, liquid, gas, etc. for testing. All instruments will fail in use, and pressure transmitters are no exception. Pressure transmitters will also have problems of this kind in use, so when there are problems, how to solve them, let's introduce the 5 common problems and solutions.

   1. The output of the pressure transmitter does not change, and the output of the pressure transmitter changes suddenly, and the zero position of the pressure relief transmitter cannot be returned. The reason for this phenomenon may be caused by the pressure sensor sealing ring, which has been encountered many times in the use of our customers. Usually because of the specifications of the sealing ring (too soft or too thick). When the sensor is tightened, the sealing ring is compressed into the pressure port of the sensor to block the sensor. The pressure medium cannot enter when the pressure is high, but it suddenly opens when the pressure is high. The sealing ring and the pressure sensor change under pressure, and when the pressure drops again, the sealing ring returns to block the pressure port, and the remaining pressure cannot be released, so the sensor zero position cannot be lowered. The way to eliminate this reason is to remove the sensor and directly check whether the zero position is normal. If it is normal, replace the appropriate sealing ring and try again.

  2. The output of the transmitter cannot go up when the pressure goes up: In this case, first check whether the pressure interface is leaking or blocked, if it is normal. Need to check the wiring method, if the wiring is correct. Next check

Power supply, if the power supply is normal. Please check whether the sensor has an output at the zero position, or simply pressurize to see whether the output changes. There is a change to prove that the sensor is not damaged, if there is no change, the sensor is confirmed to be damaged. Other reasons for this situation may also be instrument damage (such as plc range setting problems, etc.).

  3. The reasons for the failure of the transmitter without output when connected to power are as follows:

(1)wrong wiring (need to check the secondary instrument and sensor at the same time)

  (2) the power supply has no output or the power supply does not match

(3)the wire itself is open or short-circuited

(4)the meter is damaged or the meter does not match

       (5) the sensor is damaged

  4. The output signal of the transmitter is unstable. The reasons for the failure are as follows:

  (1) the sensor vibrates severely due to vibration at the installation position

(2)the anti-interference ability of the instrument or pressure sensor is not strong

  (3) the pressure source itself is an unstable pressure

  (4) the sensor wiring is not firm

(5) sensor failure

   5. There is a large contrast between the transmitter and the pointer pressure gauge. First, the deviation is normal. Secondly, confirm the normal deviation range and the method of confirming the normal error range.
